Hugh Sawyer joined Regis in April 2017. He was most recently Managing Director of the Operational Improvement areas of Huron Advisory Services, a management consulting firm. Hugh has more than 40 years of experience leading turnarounds, operational improvement initiatives, strategic transformations and mergers and acquisitions for both public and private companies across a diverse group of industries. He has now served as the President or Chief Executive Officer of nine companies, as well as in numerous board roles.
Hugh has provided transformational leadership and support to companies in a broad range of industries, including: consumer car rental, consumer retail, utilities, building materials, healthcare, transportation and logistics, equipment rental, security and guard services, graphic arts and printing, industrial laundry, CRM solutions and telecommunications, automotive OEM, automotive supply, commercial nursery operations, marine retail, real
estate development, resort and hotel operations.
He also has an extensive governance background as a board member in businesses with sophisticated constituents facing complex circumstances. Hugh has managed high growth businesses and capital intensive, debt laden, cash constrained companies with large employee populations. |

David Williams was elected a director of the company in 2011. Mr. Williams currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Chemed Company, a provider, through its subsidiaries, of hospice care, and repair and maintenance services. Mr. Williams has served as Chemed’s Chief Financial Officer since February 2004. From 1998 until 2004, Mr. Williams was the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Roto-Rooter Group, a leading provider of commercial and residential plumbing and drain cleaning services and the largest subsidiary of Chemed. Prior to that, Mr. Williams was the Chief Financial Officer of Chemed’s Omnia Group subsidiary, a manufacturer of disposable healthcare products, and prior to that was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Omnicare’s Veratex Group, a national distributor of disposable medical, dental and pharmaceutical products. Before joining Chemed, Mr. Williams was with Price Waterhouse in their Comprehensive Professional Services Group. Mr. Williams holds a B.A. degree in accounting from Michigan State University and an M.B.A. from Michigan State University’s Executive Management Program. Mr. Williams was on the executive committee and the board of trustees of one of the largest Ronald McDonald house operations in the United States from 2006 until 2010 and has also previously served on the board of trustees of Kids Helping Kids.

Daniel Beltzman co-founded Birch Run Capital, LLC (“Birch Run”) in May 2006, and has served as a Managing Member of the firm since that time. Today, under Mr. Beltzman’s direction, Birch Run manages significant assets for a number of high net worth investors. In his current role, Mr. Beltzman oversees the investment portfolio, including formulating investment strategy and generating new investment ideas. Mr. Beltzman holds a B.B.A and M.Acc. from the University of Michigan.

Virginia Gambale is a successful technology leader and investor. As Managing Partner of Azimuth Partners LLC, Ms. Gambale operates globally, as an advisor and consultant, focused on growth and innovation strategies for technology and technology driven services companies in both middle market and large corporations and advisor to startup companies. She is highly regarded for her innovative thinking, leadership, and ability to deliver results. Ms. Gambale has served on over 20 Public and Private boards including: JetBlue (NASDAQ-JBLU), Motive (NASDAQ-MOTV), Piper Jaffray (NYSE-PJC), Workbrain (TSE-WB), Synchronoss Technologies (NASDAQ-SNCR), and IQ Financial (Chairman). She is always a member of the Audit Committee, and often serves as Compensation, Transaction or Technology Committee Chair. Ms. Gambale currently serves as a Director for: JetBlue (NASDAQ-JBLU) is Compensation Committee Chair and Audit Committee member, First Derivatives (LSE-FDP.L)also Audit Committee Chair, and Compensation Committee, Board member Chicago Trading Company.
As a former senior operating executive of Global Corporations, she held senior management positions (including CIO) at: Merrill Lynch, Bankers Trust, Deutsche Bank and Marsh & McLennan. Additionally, Ms. Gambale was the Head of Deutsche Bank Strategic Ventures, and subsequently a General Partner at Deutsche Bank Capital until founding Azimuth Partners in 2003. She is also the Board President of the Newport Music Festival and adjunct faculty member at Columbia University and Mentor for Columbia University’s Masters in Technology Leadership. She is a frequent lecturer and keynote speaker on the strategic use of emerging technologies. Ms. Gambale resides in CT with her two children and husband Dr. Austin W. Feeney.

Mr. Grissen has served as Group President of Marriott International, Inc., a global operator of hotels and related lodging facilities, since 2013. During his 28 years of experience with Marriott, he has held various positions, including Group President, Americas; President, Americas; Executive Vice President of the Eastern Region; Senior Vice President of the Mid-Atlantic Region and Senior Vice President of Finance and Business Development. He has had responsibility for the financial management and leadership of all the Americas’ lodging operations, comprising more than 3,400 hotels and a work force of 100,000 associates, including responsibility for sales and marketing, revenue management, human resources, engineering, room operations, food and beverage/retail/spa, information resources and development. Mr. Grissen was a director of Good Times Restaurants Inc. from 2005 to 2010.

Mr. Light is President and Chief Executive Officer of Sterling Jewelers, a specialty jewelry retailer in the United States, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland and the Channel Islands that retails jewelry, watches and associated services, owned by parent company Signet Jewelers Limited. Mr. Light started as a sales associate at Sterling 35 years ago, and has progressed through various management positions to his current position, holding many titles, including Division President, Executive Vice President of Operations and President and Chief Operating Officer, along the way. Sterling operates a network of approximately 1,300stores in all 50 states and trades nationally in malls and off-mall locations, and operates stores outside the U.S. in high street locations and shopping malls.

Michael Merriman was elected a director of the company in 2011. Mr. Merriman has been an operating advisor with Resilience Capital Partners, LLC, a private equity firm, since July 1, 2008. From November 2006 until its sale in November 2007, Mr. Merriman served as Chief Executive Officer of The Lamson & Sessions Co., a publicly held manufacturer of thermoplastic conduit, fittings and electrical switch and outlet boxes. From September 2005 until November 2006, Mr. Merriman served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of American Greetings Corporation, through 2013, when it went private. Prior to that, he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Appliance Mfg. Co., a publicly held manufacturer and marketer of Dirt Devil vacuum cleaners, from 1995 until April 2004, was its Chief Financial Officer from 1992 to 1995, and served on the board of directors from 1993 to 2004.
Mr. Merriman has served as a director of Invacare Corporation since 2014 as its Audit Committee Chair, American Greetings Corporation since 2006, Nordson Corporation, a publicly held manufacturer of equipment used for precision dispensing, testing and inspection, surface preparation and curing, since 2008, and OMNOVA Solutions Inc., a publicly held innovator of emulsion polymers, specialty chemicals, and decorative and functional surfaces, since 2008. Mr. Merriman also served as a director of RC2 Corporation, a publicly held marketer of toys and infant products, from 2004 until its sale in April 2011. Mr. Merriman is also currently a director of Boys Hope Girls Hope of Northeast Ohio, a non-profit organization, True Hero, Inc., a non-profit organization, and John Carroll University.

Ms. Rhoades has served as the President of People Ink, Inc., a human resources consulting firm, since its inception in 1999. From 1999 through 2002, Ms. Rhoades served as JetBlue’s Executive Vice President, People. From 1995-1999, Ms. Rhoades was the Executive Vice President, Team Services for Promus Hotel/DoubleTree Hotels Corporation. From 1989 to 1995, Ms. Rhoades was the Vice President, People for Southwest Airlines. Ms. Rhoades has served as a director of JetBlue Airways (2001-May 2015), Restoration Hardware, Inc. (1999-2001 and 2005-2009), and P.F/Chang’s China Bistro (2003-2012). Ms. Rhoades serves on the boards of the University of New Mexico Alumni Association, New Mexico Appleseed, the New Mexico Health Sciences Center, Safer New Mexico Now, and formerly HireVue, Inc. and Brigham and Women’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School.
