Talk America Radio Network Welcomes Barry Farber |
“The Barry Farber Show” Now Airs on Unit of IDT Corporation Subsidiary, IDT Media
NEWARK, N.J. – May 8, 2002 – Talk America is pleased to announce that renowned broadcaster Barry Farber’s popular program, “The Barry Farber Show,” now airs over the radio syndication network. Talk America Radio Network is a unit of IDT Media, a subsidiary of IDT Corporation (NYSE: IDT.B, IDT), a leading multinational carrier and telephone company.
“Barry Farber beat Castro to Havana after the Cuban revolution, helped Hungarian freedom fighters escape the Communists, and told the world about the oppression of Jews in Russia from inside a Moscow synagogue,” said Howard Jonas, IDT’s Chairman. “Few other journalists bring that kind of perspective to world events. That’s why Barry’s show is more important today than ever before.”
Always thought-provoking and hard hitting, Farber confronts the toughest topics head-on. On his program he takes on everything from gangs, to white supremacy, to the absurdity of our politicians. “The Barry Farber Show,” a 2-hour call-in program, earned Barry the title “Talk Show Host of the Year” in 1991.
“In an industry often characterized by angry posturing and hysterical outbursts, Barry Farber has always been a voice of intelligence and dignity,” said Jim Courter, IDT’s CEO and Vice Chairman. “His unique blend of eloquence and common sense are what make ‘The Barry Farber Show’ welcome in millions of homes all across the country.”
An accomplished writer as well as broadcaster, Barry Farber is the author of the books “Making People Talk,” “How to Learn Any Language,” and “How to Conceal Stupidity.” His many articles have appeared in numerous publications, including The New York Times, Readers Digest, The Washington Post, and the Saturday Review. Farber is also fluent in dozens of languages, including Russian, Serbo-Croatian, Indonesian, Yiddish, and two dialects of Chinese.
Barry Farber is the latest addition to the Talk America lineup, which includes famed broadcasters Mort Crim and Bruce Williams. Talk America personalities can now be heard by more than 3 million listeners a week on over 1,200 radio stations nationwide.
